2024 Peppers Pizza Junior Fishing Classic Rules
ENTRY, REGISTRATION & EVENT BRIEFING
• Entries open on www.wolgfc.com website and are also available at the event briefing/registration event, Friday 20th September 2024, from 4.00pm at LA BELLA ROOM. Downstairs of Pavilion Café.
• Event briefing at 5pm, at LA BELLA ROOM. Downstairs of Pavilion Café.
• All entrants must attend the briefing and registration or make alternate arrangements by speaking directly with either Ashley Dance on 0418 513 943 or Andy Smith on 0402 257 271 to arrange their registration and be given weigh in token details.
• It is expected that every entrant will catch any fish unassisted, without assistance from a parent, guardian or another person. Under no circumstance is an entrant to present another person’s fish for weighing. This applies to all ages.
FISHING TIMES
• Fishing starts 6:00pm on Friday 20th September 2024, through until 12.00 midday on Saturday 5th October 2024.
BOUNDARIES
• Fresh water: Yambuk to the West and Peterborough to the East: Including the Curdies, Hopkins, Merri and Moyne Rivers and their tributaries. Lake Pertobe, Lake Gillear, Lake Cartcarrong, Aringa Basin, Lake Elingamite, Lake Bullen Merri, Lake Purrumbete.
• Salt Water: Ocean fishing from shore or boats launched and retrieved from Port Fairy in the West to Port Campbell in the East and all ramps/areas in-between.
SPECIES LIST
• Snapper, Mulloway, Australian Salmon, Bream, Estuary Perch, Trout (Brown, Rainbow or Tiger), Chinook Salmon, Shark (Gummy or School), King George Whiting and European Carp.
• Only one of each species can be weighed each day per entrant to count towards the results, except for European Carp. Bags of multiple fish can and will be weighed of European Carp.
BONUS MYSTERY SPECIES PHOTO COMPETITION
• Any other fish not on species list, entered by photo submission. Fish must be legal size to enter.
BRIEFING & ENTRANT PACKS
Every entrant must attend the briefing, along with a parent or guardian, or make alternate arrangements by speaking directly with either Ashley Dance on 0418 513 943 or Andy Smith on 0402 257 271 to arrange their registration and be given weigh in token details.
The first 40 entrants registered will receive a competition pack at the briefing.
Every Junior entrant will enjoy complimentary Pizza from Peppers Pizza at the final weigh in and Prize Presentation on Saturday 5th October 2024, held at the WOLGFC Clubrooms.
PRIZES
Lucky Entry Draw: Each Entrant goes into the draw for the Lucky Entry Prize. Sign up a friend at the event briefing and you will receive a second entry in the Prize Draw.
Champion Angler: Most species entered from the Species List. In the event of a tie, the heaviest combined weight of all species will win Champion Angler. (Single heaviest fish per species contributes to an entrant’s combined bag).
Heaviest Species: A prize for heaviest of each species on the species list.
Heaviest Carp Bag: A prize for heaviest bag of European Carp, across the event. (minimum of 2 Carp).
Mystery Species: Photo entry of any other species caught not on the list. Winner judged by Competition Committee.
DAILY WEIGH-IN AND CAPTURE RECORDING
• A daily weigh in will be held at the Warrnambool Offshore & Light Game Fishing Clubrooms from 5pm to 5.30pm.
The final weigh in will take place at 12.00 midday on Saturday 5th October 2024. All fish must be presented at the weigh-in area prior to this time to be eligible.
• Please present all fish to be weighed in a drip proof plastic bag so as not to drip water etc on the floor.
GENERAL RULES
1. Permission must be granted from entrants’ parent/guardian to compete in event. Parental/guardian permission is required for the use of any images of children participating in the event. Group photos will be taken in social environments, so please speak with Ashley Dance or Andy Smith if this poses any problems.
2. The close of fishing is on Saturday 5th October 2024 at 12:00pm midday, (no extensions or exceptions). All fish to be at the weigh-in area by this time.
3. Fish will only be eligible for prizes if they are from the nominated species list.
4. Weighing and recording of fish will only be carried out during stated Weigh-in times.
5. Fish must be presented whole.
6. All fish/sharks must be dispatched humanely before presentation for weighing.
7. The minimum size requirement on all species is to WOLGFC Club size limits as follows, total length or as per state regulations, whichever is the greater (except Trout). Sizes for the event are as shown below:
· King George Whiting: 32cm
· Snapper: 35cm
· Shark (Gummy or School): 100cm
· Mulloway: 60cm
· Australian Salmon: 35cm
· Bream: 30cm
· Estuary Perch: 32cm
· Chinook Salmon: 35cm
· Trout (All Species): No minimum size
· European Carp: No minimum size
8. Only one fish per species per angler per day will be recorded towards the competition. A maximum of 2 fish of the same species per day will be weighed, to determine the heaviest of those fish. European Carp are the exception from this rule and there is no limit to the amount an entrant can weigh.
9. Junior entrants must be under 16 years of age as of the starting date of the competition.
10. Any breaches of the competition rules will result in disqualification of the entrant.
11. The decision of the Competition Committee will be final at all times. No correspondence will be entered into.
12. Junior entrants must be present at Final Weigh In & Prize Presentation to be eligible to claim prizes, unless they have spoken with either Ashley Dance on 0418 513 943 or Andy Smith on 0402 257 271to make alternative arrangements.
13. Fish will only be eligible if rules 1 to 12 are satisfied.
Note: All entrants must be supervised by their parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times of the event and the club is not responsible for them.
PRIZE PRESENTATION
The prize presentation will take place following the final weigh-in at the Warrnambool Offshore & Light Game Fishing Clubrooms on Saturday 5th October 2024 at 12pm (midday), unless otherwise advised.
A free Peppers Pizza lunch for all entrants will be provided. Final Presentation of prizes will follow.
